APRIL 6

Read | Psalm 36vv5–11

Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens,
    your faithfulness to the skies.
Your righteousness is like the highest mountains,
    your justice like the great deep.
    You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.
How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!
    People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
They feast on the abundance of your house;
    you give them drink from your river of delights.
For with you is the fountain of life;
    in your light we see light.

Continue your love to those who know you,
    your righteousness to the upright in heart.
May the foot of the proud not come against me,
    nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.

All of creation cries out and points to who God is—the skies, the mountains, the seas, the animals! God’s love reaches to the cosmos and into the heart of each and every person. God draws all of creation into relationship because of God’s faithfulness.

The psalmist paints an image of humanity taking refuge in God’s presence. In God’s presence, we are filled, we are cared for, we are protected, we are loved. We find shelter in God’s presence. We are priceless to God!

How have you experienced God’s love recently? What might God show you today?

Take a moment to slow down and reflect on the greatness of God’s love.

Mighty Creator, you love us with your steadfast love. We pray for openness to notice your love and to share light with others. In your light we see light. You are near to us, O God, now and forevermore. Amen.
